Since 1959, St. Luke's Church has sponsored Boy Scout Troop 140. In those 50 years, hundreds of Middleton youth and adults have experienced camping, hiking, and fellowship, provided service to St. Luke's and the Middleton community, and shared the values of Scouting. Something to be especially proud of is that over those years, over 120 of those boys attained Eagle Scout.

Some of the past outing and activities included snow tubing at Fort McCoy, skiing in Michigan, camping at Kettle Moraine, hiking in Glacier National Park in Montana, lowering the flag in Mt. Rushmore, biking the Sparta-Elroy and trail, sleeping in the WWII submarine "Cobia", doing winter "freeze outs" at Castle Rock, hiking and camping at Philmount Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and summer camp at Camp Tesomas in Rhinelander. There is also a fall conservation outing, a fish fry and pie and ice cream social for the Middleton Good Neighbor Fest. |

Troop 140 is one of the largest troops in the Glacier Edge Council with approximately 105 scouts and adult leaders. We are a certified Quality Unit of the Boy Scouts of America, meaning that we have a regular schedule of outings, conduct annual service projects, and have properly trained leaders. Troop 140 has provided numerous services to St Luke's and the local community, including serving meals and volunteering time for the Interfaith Hospitality Network, collecting food for the Middleton Outreach Ministry pantry, and restoring trails at nature areas. |
